Community

Terrascope is an open, caring, curious community

Each year we welcome a new class of first-year students into the Terrascope community – a vibrant group of first-year students, plus a wider community of upperclassmen, MIT alumni, and faculty and staff across campus.  Our curriculum and activities create deep bonds among first-year students and form friendships that last throughout a student’s time at MIT and beyond.

Terrascope offers weekly lunches during the semester, local outings and special events, and 24-hour access to the Terrascope lounge and kitchen (located in the center of campus). When the wider community comes together, our diverse network presents options for mentorship, research opportunities, and career networking.

People

Upperclassmen and alumni are as important to our community as our first-year students!  Former “Terrafrosh” student stay involved in formal roles as Undergraduate Teaching Fellows or Associate Advisors, and join in the lunches, activities, and informal get-togethers that happen year-round.

Undergraduate Teaching Fellows

Undergraduate Teaching Fellows (UTFs) are integral to the Terrascope community – with a key role in classes and always a rich source of advice. Meet our current UTFs >
