Each year we welcome a new class of freshmen into the Terrascope community – a vibrant group of freshmen, plus a wider community of upperclassmen, MIT alumni, and faculty and staff across campus. Our curriculum and activities create deep bonds among freshmen and form friendships that last throughout a student’s time at MIT and beyond.
Terrascope offers weekly lunches and study sessions during the semester, local outings and special events, and 24-hour access to the Terrascope lounge and kitchen (located in the center of campus). When the wider community comes together, our diverse network presents options for mentorship, research opportunities, and career networking.
Upperclassmen and alumni are as important to our community as our freshmen! Former “Terrafrosh” stay involved in the formal roles of Undergraduate Teaching Fellow or Associate Advisor, and join in the lunches, activities, and informal get-togethers that happen year-round.
Undergraduate Teaching Fellows are integral to the Terrascope community – with a key role in classes and always a rich source of advice. Meet our current UTFs >
